Quinta Cangrejo
A home designed for a successful U.S. architect and developer whose disability requires his getting around in a motorized wheelchair. Thus, the factors of mobility, comfort, and freedom of movement were given special attention in the design. This is a truly comfortable house, with a diversity of spaces that the owners appreciatively recognize, utilize, and enjoy. It features a skylight above the bed in the main bedroom that opens or closes and can be covered or uncovered completely or partially to let the light and breeze in. In the independent office space, the architect has his piano, his desk and computer, and comfortable armchairs arranged in a circle surrounded by samples of his internationally famous collection of carousel pieces.
